Supporting Older People or those with a Disability

At some point, we have probably all felt lonely, but imagine having that feeling every day and very rarely getting any connection with the outside world, relying heavily on a TV for companionship.

Sadly that it the reality for many older or disabled people living on their own whom perhaps don’t have family or friends close by to support them. Our Community Support Volunteers make a massive difference to the lives of people in this situation, by visiting them in their home or taking them to a local coffee shop or community group where they can have a friendly chat and feel valued.

We also have opportunities to volunteer in a number of residential care homes for older people, where our volunteers can really help to brighten somebody’s day.
