
Gardening Support – Dolphinlee House, Lancaster
Do you love gardening?
Dolphinlee House are seeking enthusiastic Gardening Support Volunteers to help support them in maintaining the garden area and helping support gardening projects.. The benefits of having a maintained area for their residents is essential to their person centred residential and daytime support care.

Older people services operate using quality services which are provided in a safe way for all residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
This role is weather dependant and flexible up to 3 hours a week. Garden and DIY skills are required.
This volunteering role is subject to a DBS check. To qualify you must have been a resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
- Applicants must be willing to go through an induction process with relevant background checks and an enhanced DBS check (This will be done free of charge)
- Once you have applied online one of our Volunteer Officers will be in contact to arrange your DBS
Tasks:
- Be able to encouraged & assist residents to tend to small areas of the garden e.g. planting & maintaining spring/summer pots and baskets.
- To include general maintenance and basic garden DIY
- If required, you will spend some time chatting to residents helping to combat their feelings of loneliness
- Help to brighten up a resident’s day
- Log volunteering hours monthly on-line.
Required Qualities:
- Knowledge of garden plants, gardening / planting / DIY
- Be a good communicator

- Be friendly & approachable
- Have a caring nature
- Awareness of confidentiality
Training:
LVP training will be provided in the form of distance eLearning. Volunteers must have completed the required training before any activity can be undertaken and will be expected to regularly refresh training when required.
