Youth Independent Advisory Group Leader (YIAG)

Lancashire Constabulary are launching their first Youth Advisory Group, and we are seeking Volunteers over the age of 18 to help run the group which will take place on the last Wednesday of each month at Lancashire Constabulary Headquarters.

The group will be an open and safe environment for young people to provide honest and constructive feedback about policing policies and matters to senior officers within the police.

Primarily, we want to understand the issues the young people of Lancashire are facing. We will work together develop and improve our polices and the policing service we offer to the public.

Each meeting, a new subject matter will be discussed where you will work with the YIAG volunteers to help them to provide their thoughts, experiences and advice to improve the policy.

You will be supported in your role by Police staff and officers throughout.

Tasks:

  • To provide assistance and support the running of the Youth IAG panel.
  • To assist in the organisation and management of the Youth IAGS and ensuring adequate resources are in place.
  • To assist in the production and delivery of engagement opportunities and broaden Youth IAGS knowledge of policing and the community.
  • To promote and comply with Lancashire Constabulary’s policies on equal opportunities and health and safety both in the delivery of service and the treatment of others.
  • To be responsible for ensuring tasks contribute towards the Youth IAG aims and objectives along with the corporate objectives of the Lancashire Constabulary.

  • To be responsible for improving personal performance by actively engaging in a review with Volunteer Officer.
