WHAT IS VOLUNTEERS’ WEEK?

National Volunteers’ Week takes place every year between 1-7 June and is an opportunity for Lancashire Volunteer Partnership (LVP) to thank our incredible volunteers across public services in Lancashire.

A global pandemic may have changed how we’ve operated over the last few years, but that did not stop people from all walks of life around Lancashire taking time to volunteer and making a huge difference to people and their communities.

From our Community Support Befrienders supporting vulnerable and isolated people through our Telephone Befriending service, to our Covid Vaccination Centre Marshals who supported the NHS run vaccine programme across Lancashire and South Cumbria, plus so many more.

Our volunteers have been at the heart of the pandemic response process and this is why we feel that it’s so important to acknowledge and celebrate the endless contributions they provide.

We’ve got a calendar of activities and events going on for Volunteers’ Week 2022, so we’d love for you to get involved!

We are running our Big ‘Thank You’ Event on Tuesday 7th June.

The details for this event have been sent by invite only via Better Impact – so take a look on there for the full details.

We are running local thank you events and activities across Lancashire during Volunteers Week and this June.

Full details for these events will be communicated by your local Volunteer Officer, however we would also welcome anyone else interested in attending to pop along too! Take a look at the full timetable here.

Our Volunteer Officer Francesca Blundell, talks about our Community Support Befriending Service and the positive impact that our befriending volunteers make across Lancashire.

Keep posted on our YouTube and social media channels to watch the interview.

We know that food brings us all together, and because so many of our volunteers love cooking, baking, and concocting their own tasty treats – we’ve decided to create our very our cookbook.

Filled with all the favourite recipes from our volunteers and staff, you can view it online here.

We always like to hear your feedback, so take part in our social media polls to share your opinions about volunteering. We’ll also be sharing messages from our partners, celebrating our volunteers achievements, and much more!

We’ll also be getting interactive on Nextdoor – so if you’re not already on the platform check it out here.
