Last month our volunteering roles changed to protect our volunteers and we have been so impressed with how our volunteers have adapted we wanted to share some of the tremendous contributions our volunteers have carried on making.
Many volunteers carried on supporting their befriended by telephone instead of visiting each week, many current volunteers also volunteered to support additional people at this time. Volunteers came forward from other roles to give their time offering company to people isolated by this pandemic.
A library volunteer moved his reading group from room to Zoom! Missing his local group our volunteer got in contact with some of the usual attendees from his usual group and provided support to anyone who needed help getting online.
A Knit and Natter volunteer wanted to support the NHS and has got involved to supply knitted gifts to NHS staff.
One of our volunteers who usually volunteers each week in a home for older people has taken to writing to the residents, the letters have been so well received and it is a valuable connection to keep.
