Group Support Volunteers at Leyland Day Centre

Do you have a few hours available each week to commit to supporting group activities at Leyland Day Centre?

We are looking for volunteers to help encourage and assist individuals to participate in activities.

Day services are provided in community settings. The service aims to support people with disabilities to regain/learn skills and confidence and help them to achieve their personal goals

Activities may include:

  • Befriending
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Pamper and beauty activities
  • Music support

We also welcome other suggestions for different activities!  If you have a particular hobby/interest not listed above that you would like to share this could create a new group for a small number of people.

The volunteer must have the skills, knowledge and ability to help maximise the individual clients potential. Support from a Volunteer can help make a difference in someone’s life, even if it’s just a smile.

Please contact a member of staff at the Day Centre for further details before applying to ensure it’s suitable for you.  Please ring 01772 435957.

The Day Centre is flexible on which day the the volunteer attends and would discuss the most suitable day and times with them.

Older people services operate using quality services which are provided in a safe way for all residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Their core purpose is to provide high quality person centred residential and daytime support for their service users.

These opportunities are subject to an enhanced DBS check. You must be willing to go through an induction process and relevant background checks.
