Arts & Crafts Group Support LRIT

Volunteers who enjoy doing group arts & crafts are required by Lancashire Refugee Integration Team. Volunteers should  be confident and comfortable about sharing their hobby skills and willing to commit to volunteering long term.

These sessions enabling those attending to feel integrated into a new area as they provide a relaxed & safe environment. During the group activity, attendees are encouraged to engage and improve their conversation skills.

The Volunteers ability to speak other languages is not essential however if you have multi-lingual ability please add this to your application and mention the arts & crafts you are willing to help teach to others.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Tasks:

  • Support and assist staff to run sessions and activities as required for the group
  • Help setting up the room for group work and tidying up afterwards (Building based)
  • Help with building new skills, confidence, motivation, and developing confidence in communicating in English
  • Engaging with groups supporting those attending to take part and to get involved
  • Log your volunteering hours monthly

  • Commitment to addressing the needs of refugees and asylum seekers

Training:

Training in the form of eLearning specific to the service and the role is required. Volunteers are expected to complete all training as and when required.
