WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are actively encouraging applications from those who already have a career. There are over 200 companies signed up to the Employer Supported Policing Scheme, which gives staff an agreed amount of paid leave per year to support police volunteering.
Our Special Constables come from all walks of life bringing a vast range of skills and experience including: Teachers; GPs; Project managers, Directors; Retailers and Police control room operators to name just a few.
WHAT’S IT LIKE BEING A SPECIAL CONSTABLE?
All special constables spend their time on emergency response and with a neighbourhood team when they first join us. You’ll provide a police presence in town centres on weekend nights, respond to domestic violence incidents, deal with local issues around Anti-social behaviour and help people who are going through a mental health crisis.
