Wycoller Wednesdays Countryside Support
Volunteers are needed to help support at the Wycoller Countryside site.
Famous for its association with the Bronte sisters, Wycoller is a mixture of woodland and farmland, with many paths leading to beauty spots like Bank House and Wycoller Beck.
Volunteers meet up on Wednesday morning and together they help keep the county’s country parks, picnic sites, nature reserves and community woodlands looking their best. Under guidance from the Countryside Service, volunteers carry out small maintenance tasks such as planting and pruning, fixing fences, mending gates or signs, litter picking, as well as visitor guidance and information.
We encourage local support from people who live close to the site and have a sense of pride and ownership which is why they want to do their bit to keep it looking good. Applicants should be aware that maintenance of the local terrain can be in areas that are overgrown, steep, and muddy, and volunteers must be capable of traversing those paths.
