Craft and Create Group Volunteer at Garstang Library

Garstang Library are looking for a volunteer to support their Craft and Create Group.

The sessions will run on Thursday evenings from 5.45pm to 6.45pm, for all levels from beginners to advanced.  People will be asked to bring along their own craft and materials and join like-minded people for an hour where they can share their knowledge or pick up some tips whilst making new friends.  If you would be interested in helping us run these sessions we would like to hear from you.

Lancashire libraries care and cater for the needs of their local communities and are recognised as a safe space and often the main community hub.

The library service is continually involved with new projects to ensure they provide what is needed locally for all ages. By running regular events and acting as the venue for many other local groups’ activities, they endeavour to help tackle the issues leading to social isolation.

The need for volunteers to help assist the service, by helping under supervision to provide many of the activities and projects, is vital.

Tasks:

• Participate and ensure the smooth running of the sessions.
• Help in setting up the spaces for sessions.
• Make conversation with our customers who attend the sessions.
• Log volunteering hours monthly and submit expenses where applicable on-line.
• Complete minimum level training e.g. safeguarding and commit to further training relevant to role.

• Have patience and understanding
