Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was established on in December 2007. In 2010, it was awarded Teaching Hospitals status and changed its named to Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in recognition.
The Trust is situated on the west coast of Lancashire and operates within a regional area across Lancashire and South Cumbria, supporting a population of 1.6 million.
The Trust provides a range of acute services to the 352,000 population of the Fylde coast, and since 2012 has also provided a wide range of community health services to the 445,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre and North Lancashire. They work closely with the adult community services, to ensure that all patients have a high-quality service, whether they are in hospital, in the community, or supported by LVP volunteers.
