Travel Training Support Volunteer

Independent Travel Training is a new service working to promote and develop independence skills with young people in Lancashire who have special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The aim is for the young people to develop their confidence and life skills in order to be able to use public transport independently to travel to school/college. These skills will also enhance the young person’s opportunity to partake in social/leisure interests.

The service will be working with schools/colleges across the county to embed travel training into the curriculum.   Training will begin in a classroom and may progress to real time situations.

Times and dates may vary from one school to another – this will be determined upon enquiry.
