Referral Order Panel Members Lancaster Lancashire Child & Youth Justice Service
Lancashire Child & Youth Justice Service (LCYJS) are recruiting Referral Order Panel Member volunteers who reflect the diversity of Lancashire to support in LANCASTER.
Volunteers play an essential role in supporting the delivery of services alongside staff and helping children aged 10 – 18 years. This support will help make a difference to the young persons lives, supporting them towards living a safe, crime-free life, and make a positive contribution to society.
Volunteers create a positive link between the community and the children, young people who access LCYJS services. Being a member of a Community Referral Order Panel allows children to recognise the consequences of their offending and to be accountable for their actions through a restorative approach. Panel members help children to co-produce a contract specifying the support and activities they will take part in during their Court Order Support.
All panel meetings take place at 6pm, so volunteers will need to arrive at 5.30pm when facilitating a panel prior to the meeting taking place. Volunteering is on a rota and swaps and changes can be made to accommodate the volunteer if necessary. There are occasional adhoc daytime panel meetings, though this is not a regular occurrence.
Applicants must be aged 18 or above.
