Collections Volunteer

We are looking for an active volunteer to make regular collections from various police stations across Lancashire and then take the items to the auction house in Salford, Manchester.

The frequency of the collections will vary from between 1 to 4 collections a month so some flexibility will be required.

Due to the nature of the role you will need to be fit, active, able to drive vans of varying sizes and be able to work alone.

The role will be volunteering for ​Lancashire Partnership Against Crime (LANPAC) which is a unique collaboration between Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Businesses and Public Services working together to reduce levels of crime and disorder across the county.

  • Responsible for the collection of items from property stores across Lancashire and taking them to the auction house in Salford, Manchester
  • To assist when required at LANPAC events i.e conferences and exhibitions

Required Qualities:

  • Ability to lift and move a variety of items from the stores to the van and then to the auction house
  • Available to drive vans of varying sizes – relevant licence and experience needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Respect for Race and Diversity
  • Ability to work on own initiative


Training will be provided where necessary and may be in the form of peer support, distance learning or trainer led.

  • Basic Driving Assessment will need to be completed
  • Manual Handling Training


Volunteers must have completed the required training before the activity can be undertaken and may be asked to regularly refresh training where required.
