Christian Chaplaincy Volunteer

At East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust our vision is to be widely recognised for providing safe, personal and effective care.  We currently provide high quality services and treat over 600,000 people across East Lancashire and the surrounding area. The Trust is supported by over 200 volunteers in a wide variety of ways. We love our volunteers. The contribution they make to our patients, families, visitors and staff is invaluable.

This well established volunteer role will support patients by listening and conversing with them during their stay in hospital. Our chaplaincy volunteers carry out activities alongside a team of experienced staff chaplains to bring spiritual, pastoral and religious care to patients, their families/carers, staff of all faiths and none. Volunteers will be asked to spend time with patients of any faith or background, but may also be asked to visit specific patients who share the same faith. This role will improve the experience of our patients and families, as our Chaplaincy volunteers link the Trust with our local community.
