Activities at Leyland Day Centre

Do you have a few hours available each week to commit to supporting activities at Leyland day Centre?

They have scheduled activities and require Volunteers to help engage their service users and residents to take part, activities include:

  • Coffee Morning – do you like to drink coffee, tea and chat?  We are looking for volunteers with exceptional skills in drinking coffee/tea and being friendly to support our Coffee Mornings.  One morning every alternate week between 10am and 12noon, we are looking for volunteers to assist the Coffee Mornings which are open to members of the public who are invited to drop in at anytime during the session for a chat and refreshments.
  • Befriending – Tuesday morning & afternoon, Wednesday afternoon, Thursday & Friday morning – take time with the service users offering sensitive listening skills and good communication.
  • Arts & Crafts – Tuesday & Friday afternoon – if you are good at arts & crafts and able to inspire others with easy projects that would be an advantage.
  • Pamper – Wednesday & Saturday mornings – are you skilled in offering pamper & beauty treatments? Help brighten up a service users’ day by supporting the sessions by nail painting, make up, therapeutic hand massages.

Times: mornings 10.30am to 12.30am, afternoons 2.00pm – 4.00pm

If you have a specific area of interest in any of the activities above, and are available for the day & time listed, before applying you are asked to please speak to a member of staff at the Home for further details before applying to ensure it’s suitable for you.

The Day Centre is flexible on which day the Coffee Morning is run and would discuss the most suitable day with the volunteer.

Please state which activity/activities you would like to volunteer for upon application.
