Lancashire County Council Chair, County Councillor Janice Hanson, hosted a celebration of volunteering at County Hall in Preston earlier this month.

As Programme Manager for the Lancashire Volunteer Partnership, Chief Inspector Ian Sewart was invited to address volunteers and talk about the future vision for public service volunteering.

After his address he met with volunteers to thank them for the contributions they were making: ‘It was an inspiration to see so many volunteers in one place and I was proud to be able to thank them all for the tremendous contributions they make to people’s lives in Lancashire. It was a pleasure to meet them all and thank you to the chair of Lancashire County Council for inviting me to her event’.
